Macross is a Japanese anime series being telecast in the early 80s. It revolves around the human beings' discovery of a crash-landed alien ship, and their many battles with the hostile alien race that is out to destroy the ship and the human race.

One of the most famous robots in the anime has to be the valkyries. It is a fighter plane (like an F15 Tomcat) that can be transformed into 3 modes, the fighter mode, Gerwalk mode and Battroid mode.
